Great way to frustrate people who like to stand to break the guard, and you don’t even have to risk breaking the legs to do it! Awesome! Any tips on breaking that grip in conjunction with the kick back (or if that is even necessary)? Yongchuan P April 29, 2018 at 8:27 am Log in to Reply Hi, would this still work against people who, instead of shifting their weight forward when standing, transfer their weight to the side instead? Eg when bringing the right knee up, transfer weight to the left side of body. Or would we need to switch to another technique Derrick G May 30, 2019 at 11:02 am Log in to Reply Great question. That’s the precise problem I’m having. Anyone who has a good foundation will normally shift their weight to the side before standing up. Personally, I use the hook sweep once they post their foot.
