Forward rolls with palm on the ground can’t hold your body weight. As an exaggeration, try to pause for a moment just before committing your legs from firing into the roll. How long can you hold this position with the back of your hand vs palm on the ground? As a follow up question, In practice I have seen that keeping that leg tucked in as you are coming up does not provide a solid base. That leg should be out already in position to stand instead of tucked. When I see this as an attacker, I immediately drive into the person to prevent them from standing up.
