What is the best way to escape this type of position? Thanks. Henry A August 28, 2017 at 8:27 am Log in to Reply Are you talking about a side mount position? Other gyms might call this modified mount or technical mount Ben L November 7, 2017 at 8:10 am Log in to Reply How do you avoid getting caught in a guillotine from the front? Thanks John Taylor June 26, 2018 at 9:06 am Log in to Reply Hey Henry, i think Hugh N mean’s the mount but ur on your side. I’ve mentioned it before about the potentiality of them stepping the leg over your leg’s & hips. This is why i asked if the your top leg (When in this Side-Defence position the opponent tries to step over and then bring you into a mount. If he can’t flatten you he can still mount you buy hooking his leg over into a Bastardised version of the mount) was over your bottom at a wide (ish) 45° Angle to stop them from stepping over, thus mounting you without having to flatten you out. Does this wide top leg base make it harder for them to step over? And is that the purpose of it?. Sorry about the length, it’s one of those nightmares to describe 🙁🙂🙏…. John Taylor June 26, 2018 at 9:10 am Log in to Reply The Answer, as you explained is to put them straight into Guard and it’s not a Static Position. Paul B December 6, 2018 at 4:36 am Log in to Reply Hi Henry. I had an opponent move back toward my legs but when he did so he pinned my top leg down and switched to the other side. Any suggestions to manage that please. Thank you. Leave A Comment Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
