Soon after I watched this video and heard the elbow flare once again lol it applied the proper shoulder pressure I needed, I’m at a loss for words at how just these few videos have increased my submission rate in the gym when rolling and in drilling. The simplified concepts make too much sense and make it easier to understand the true purpose of each submission and almost make it crazy that anyone would train any other way but most haven’t been esposed to see “hidden” details.

Thanks Johnny for being such a great student of the material, makes my day to get these messages and to know I’m making a difference in peoples jiu-jitsu game

    Hi Henry,
I love this video! I have a question. I’ve tried this choke a few times in the past but when I attempt, the opponent tucks their chin down very tightly and I’ve failed. Do you have recommendation as to how to best elevate the chin without losing position?
    Thank you!
    Mike

Hi Michael, the way I drop into the choke usually allows my body to slide a little under the chin, If you feel you’re tight on the sides then just be patient and slowly wiggle down, should be able to close it up, most the pressure from the choke will come from the sides.

Hey Henry, how exactly does this choke effect the neck? Does it only close up 1 artery or do you effect both sides of the neck somehow?

Both sides, your bicep closes off one side and your chest the other

Hi Henry, I love the choke and detail. Now I have some training partners putting their hands together in a prayer position next to their neck when the see it coming. Is there any counter to this counter? Its usually a stalemate when they do this.

Attack their arm with aN americana, you need to switch back to regular cross side though

Is their such a thing as 2 low? I’m getting my ribs near the ear, head turned towards the ground. Still having a hard time with the finish.
