Henry Head Shot On Black

This sweep is used from a very common jiu-jitsu self-defense position where you start with two feet on your opponent’s hips to keep him at a distance.

I will move to one side to grab the ankle then my opposite leg will hook behind the leg on the other side. Once I have the hook I use it to square my body back up with my opponent then push with my foot on the hip making him fall.

The important part to this technique is how I stand to come on top. By using a very similar technique to “standing up in base” putting all my weight in my elbow (with the hand holding the ankle) and opposite foot, I lift my butt off the ground and swing my butt up and head down to get back to one knee then stand up while still controlling the ankle so my opponent can’t stand up.
